She set foot on Lincoln International Academy for the first time in 1987 to work as a temporary replacement. Miss Carmen Gloria Díaz never imagined that 30 years later she would be receiving the “Gerardo Sanhueza Award” for Chicureo campus, the greatest distinction the school can give to a teacher. This honor, which is given since 2015 for Teachers’ Day, is a tribute to our former mentor Gerardo Sanhueza, whom outstood due to his tireless work in educating and forming our students with academic excellence, marking many generations.
“It’s really an acknowledgement to all the years given to the school, to my children, to my career, because it’s what I like to do the most” tells us excited Miss Carmen Gloria. For our 1st grade teacher, these three decades have been a period of constant learning: times have been changing and so have the students and classes she has had. In 2006, she moved to Chicureo to continue contributing in forming our children and strengthening the Lintac family.
But what hasn’t changed these years is her energy, her passion and her tireless effort in one of the most important jobs in the world. “The school is a place with a lot of harmony, I feel great, comfortable and happy in my classroom”, she concludes. Having worked in Pre-Kinder, Kinder, 1st and 2nd grade, there is nothing that makes her more proud than to see her small students graduate later on and become great professionals.
Congratulations Miss Carmen Gloria for receiving this unique award, which is a result of your tremendous work in educating our students throughout all these years!
Sir Gerardo Sanhueza
