On the verge of celebrating 50 years of educational excellence
More than fifty years ago, in 1969, Robert G. Seaquist, an American citizen and doctor in education, came to Chile as Nido de Águilas school headmaster. He brought with him a unique education vision with an international vocation. After marrying the teacher Verónica Caroca Cerón, a Santiago College student alumni, they returned to the United States due to the contingency of those years.
Upon their return to Chile, Robert and Verónica decided to found an excellent and different international school, but with a family seal that distinguishes it to this day. This is how in March 1977, Lincoln International Academy was founded and had its first campus on Luis Thayer Ojeda Street, Providencia. In its first steps, the school opened its doors to a group of 137 students, sowing the seeds of what would become one of the most outstanding educational entities in the country.
In 1984 the first generation graduated and that same year the school hymn was created, written by the famous Chilean singer-songwriter Scottie Scott, winner of the 1969 Viña del Mar Festival. “Lintac love of learning, Lintac love of God, Lintac love of country”, say its verses that are a total emblem in the school.
In 1991, Verónica Caroca, founder, took over the direction of the school. Her leadership marked a period of growth and consolidation in educational quality and the international orientation that characterizes it to this day.
Today, the college is under the direction of John F. Seaquist, son of the founders. Lintac alumni, since 2000 he has served as headmaster, providing his passion, knowledge, and commitment to maintaining excellence, diversity and the seal of quality that makes Lincoln International Academy different.View more
In 2003, DAI (Comprehensive Support Department) was formed, a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, counselors and educational psychologists, willing to provide support to our students and collaborate in the education of integral people.Throughout its history, the school has 30 generations of graduates. In addition, the institution has expanded its presence with two locations, Campus Lo Barnechea and Campus Chicureo, (the latter opened its doors in 2006) providing its students with a diverse and enriching educational environment. An example of this is the Special Educational Needs Program, which has more than 13 years of experience. Likewise, today 25% of our students are foreigners, from 38 different nationalities.
Lincoln International Academy, which will soon celebrate 50 years of existence, has reaffirmed its commitment to being an innovative and avant-garde institution, dedicated to providing the best to each of its students so that they are able to contribute to a better world. That means that our school’s motto “undoubtedly our best” resonates in all areas of things.
Since 2021, the implementation of the Finnish International Curriculum began and from 2024, we are an IB school and we will teach the Diploma Program for 10th grade students onwards.
We want the Lincoln International Academy student to be a global citizen who transforms their environment through rigorous work and excellence, always seeking the truth with the strength provided by their solid ethical values and a deep awareness about themselves and the world.
